Most of our kits are offered with either round or square diamonds. Neither is better — they simply give different finishes, and the right choice depends on the look you want and how you like to work.
Round diamonds
Round diamonds are quick and forgiving. They pick up easily on the pen, drop neatly into place, and do not need to be lined up perfectly. Because they are circular, tiny gaps remain between them, which catches the light and gives a soft, sparkling finish. They are a relaxed, beginner-friendly choice.
Square diamonds
Square diamonds sit edge-to-edge with no gaps, giving fuller coverage and a crisper image. They make a satisfying click as they seat into place. They take a little more precision — each wants to be square to its neighbours — which many makers find part of the pleasure.
Which should you choose?
