What to Do With Leftover Diamonds

Every kit includes a few extra diamonds of each colour. Five calm, creative ways to give them a second life instead of leaving them in a drawer.

Every kit includes a small surplus of each colour, so once your piece is finished there are usually a few diamonds left over. It feels a shame to leave them in a drawer. Here are some calm, creative ways to give them a second life.

Make a design of your own

A blank adhesive canvas lets you place leftover diamonds however you like, with no printed symbols to follow. Try a simple pattern, a word, or a small abstract piece that uses the colours you have. You will find blank canvases and tools in Studio and Framing.

Decorate small objects

A little strong craft glue is all you need to add a touch of sparkle to everyday things.

  • Notebooks and journals
  • Jewellery boxes and trinket dishes
  • Photo frames and candle jars
  • Keyrings and bookmarks

Handmade cards

Birthday cards, Christmas cards and invitations become something to keep when they carry a few hand placed diamonds. It is a lovely way to make a gift feel personal.

A project to share

Drawing a simple shape on card and filling it with diamonds is a gentle activity to share with children or grandchildren, and a good way to introduce them to the craft.

Keep them for next time

Store spare diamonds in small labelled containers, sorted by colour code. They are useful for touch ups and for the next project. Our guide to keeping your diamond painting organised shows how.

And if you ever run short of a colour while working on one of our kits, simply let us know and we will send what you need.
